It’s a ‘07 Grand Prix, 116k miles, for $6900. That price is actually reasonable compared to others in the area. Of course, that depends on the test drive.
I went to a dealer today, and while waiting for the saleslady I checked their site and saw this guy, on another lot. I’m going on a test drive tomorrow when they bring it to the closer lot.
So I'm excited!

That is a pretty good-looking car. Wonder if there’s a warranty ....

Probably not, and I still need to look at the carfax. But so far I like what I see. It's a base trim with extras too, :).

Manual? Did they even make those in manual?
Just get your mechanic to look at it before pulling the trigger.

As I’ve said before, good choice with the Grand Prix, you should have no troubles with the engine and transmission (which are, of course, the most expensive repairs). Insurance should be cheap. Mileage seems average. Price seems high, despite what you say about it being reasonable in the local market. Clearly was a trade-in, dealer probably gave $5000, I’d play hardball with them.
Bringing somebody else with you to see a car is always a good idea, but you must also get it inspected by a mechanic , especially for that price. Make a satisfactory inspection by an independent mech a condition of sale. It will help you avoid a money pit. And if you buy, will give you an idea of what you’ll be facing down the road. Inspections usually cost 1hr. of labor, though some shops will give you a quick and dirty 30min job.

Most prix around here sell for $7k to $9k, ranging from 70k miles up to 125k; it's all over the board. My gpa hopefully will come with me, he has more car knowledge.

Out of all the cars, why a fancy impala?

Because it has a 3.8L engine which is known to be a cockroach, not easily killable. The transmission is good as well. It’s a larger car than what I currently have, not to mention the possibility of adding a hitch. Anyways, I’ve been chasing after a prix because of its reliability.
Since I’m in Michigan, where American cars go to die, parts should be plentiful, especially since it shared parts with impalas and LaCrosses. The Prix is just the better looking of the three.
I was looking into Fusion/Milan and Crown Vic’s as well. But finding a nearby fusion in my price range proved difficult. I would love a crown Vic but the hwy mpg (24) kills it for me, the prix gets 29 and I commute 320 miles a week. My current car gets a laughtable 24 hwy out of a pitiable 2.4L i4 (seriously Chrysler?)
I don’t have much of a budget, so reliability and good mpg ( better than what I currently have) is a deciding factor here. This prix just happened to be nearby, and so far I like what I see, :). But I can always walk away if something is wrong.
